TRNOVO ob Soči-
one of the best bouldering spots in our country


The place was discovered about 4 years ago by Gašper Bratina,
who was the first to climb there and about a year later we started to climb there regularly.

 I love the place and I do more every time I go there. I recommend it because you can find there everything from slopers to crimps, jugs, compression problems, small rocks, highballs, very technical problems etc ..  that's why it got the name WHITE FONT.

Why I love Trnovo is not just because of the diversity of shapes and of movement but because there's still a lot of potentail for hard problems (and without the need to make eliminations).

Varazze 1. 5. 13

This year the weather around the 1.May was more or less bad all over the europe and after 10 days of checking weather forecast we decided to go to Varazze, where the weather was supposed to be good. The team formed without a problem. It took us 5 hours to get there from Nova Gorica.

 I was surprised because I didn't know there were so many boulders in the area of Varazze. The new bouldering guide that's coming out these days is said to be twice the size of the old one.  So the number of boulder problems is still growing and a lot of work has been done in quite short period of time.

Finally I managed to go back to Jurgovo. Compared to my first visit, this time conditions were much better in fact they were perfect: clouds, wind, no sunshine, completely dry. I had some unfinished business there. I had La Balance on my mind. I tried it before and loved the block and the line. Very technical slopy highball. Kruder did FA and nobody repeated it thereafter. I did I few tries but kept falling because I was scarred, the landing is quite bad-huge stump awaits you right were you hit the ground- like the price you have to pay if you dont do it:)

When I climbed La Balance I was so psyched I wanted to try Angry birds next. We went to the next boulders where the birds are and the landing there is even worse. I had two pads and was asking friends for more pads, but they were all 'occupied':) so I said to myself I'm just going to try a bit with the two pads i had. I tried two times and the third I just did it. For me it's one of the best boulders in Jurgovo that I tried so far, I recommend it.

Beauty of nature

Trip to Brione.

A few days ago we came back from Brione. I was surprised by the quality of the rock- really smooth granite, much smoother than for example Chironico or even Cresciano- and by the amount of blocks that seems nobody has tried to clean or climb.

The team spirit was great and we were climbing four days on without a rest.

Not so many climbers visit Brione. We met some 10 climbers in all 5 days. There's no guide book, you just go and find boulders you heard about or saw on the video clips. That's also one of the reasons why it's so beautifull. But you have to have a standard and a good eye for lines. Next time I go to Brione I would like to clean some new boulders and put up new problems.

But the place is not deserted - we met one local, hahaha:D and a helicopter that blew our pads into the river.
